Prisons & Jails
I was in prison and you came to me. Matthew 25:36
Remember the prisoners as if chained with them. Hebrews: 13:3
In Nevada, we have a team of brothers and sisters that go into various prisons to pay visitations, not only to evangelize, but to disciple men and women. Through our mentoring training, believers are getting equipped to be devoted followers of Christ. Our ministry pays visitations in jails in the Philippines as well, and has funded bibles to each of one of these prisons through local pastors.
The United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world, there are approximately 3.600 jails that currently hold about 1 million inmates. County jails house inmates that are charged with petty crimes to major crimes. Jails are a very fertile field for mission, to plant the seed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether in the U.S or in the Philippines, there is always a genuine desire to inspire real change in the inmates lives. County jails can be frustrating with injustice at times, but it is very rewarding to see lives being transformed by the good news of the gospel.
